Dr. Marika Jackson is a board-certified podiatric physician and surgeon who blends top-tier medical expertise with a compassionate, family-centered approach. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and a former Chief Resident, Dr. Jackson has dedicated her career to mastering the complexities of lower extremity health, from routine wellness to advanced surgical reconstruction.
Her global perspective and vibrant heritage shape her uniquely personal approach to patient care. Born in Trinidad, West Indies, and raised in the beautiful island of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Dr. Jackson developed a strong sense of community early on. She moved to Pennsylvania to pursue her academic foundations, earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Following graduation, she dedicated 11 years of her career to serving Florida families as a passionate professional science educator in Orlando. Driven by a desire to impact lives through healthcare, she transitioned from the classroom to medical school, earning her Doctorate from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida. She then completed a rigorous surgical residency within the world-renowned Jackson Health System in Miami, gaining extensive, high-volume experience in lower extremity trauma, complex reconstructive surgery, and advanced limb salvage.
This deep foundational background in science education strongly defines her practice philosophy today. She believes that exceptional healthcare starts with clear communication, helping her patients fully understand their conditions, and partnering with them to build customized, effective treatment plans.
In the clinical setting, Dr. Jackson is highly regarded for her versatility and skill. She places a heavy emphasis on diabetic foot care, proactive screening, and patient education, ensuring her patients have the tools and support needed to maintain optimal, lifelong mobility. Her extensive training also makes her a trusted provider for acute foot and ankle injuries, advanced wound management, and chronic conditions. A true creative at heart, she finds joy in the kitchen cooking for her family and expresses her love for music as a former Worship leader.
